Here are some photos taken at a gathering of Canadians (horse breed and people!). Pax put on a brief demonstration. Ron (his owner) and Bill (my husband) went to Allen Pogue’s Trick Training Camp in April. Ron returned from Texas with the skills and desire to teach Pax the “rear to a pedestal.” As you can see, it’s coming along nicely.
Another idea that made its way to our farm from the clinic is a new round pen. Bill and Ron are keen to work multiple horses and a round pen certainly facilitates that! We’ll get pictures of it and the brilliant new moves (which the horses are yet to learn).
Colleen Archer sent a video of Aurum (a horse) and Timbit (a pony) at liberty travelling side by side, changing direction AND whoaing side by side. Wow! She wrote a few weeks ago that she asked for the whoa and the horses stopped. She looked at them and said (more to herself, than to them) that she’d like them to halt closer to each other. Aurum reached over to Timbit, put his head on the far side of the pony and directed him a few steps closer.
I can almost hear Aurum saying, “Really, Colleen, all you need to do is ask.”
