Ottawa, Ontario—The Canadian Reining Committee and the High Performance subcommittee of Equine Canada is pleased to announce that the selection criteria for the 2009 Reining Kentucky Cup CRI 4* event has now been posted on the  Equine Canada website at http://www.equinecanada.ca/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=525&Itemid=455.

 

Riders who are interested in representing Canada at the 2009 Kentucky Cup must achieve a score of 68 or greater at two different CRI competitions during the qualifying period of May 31, 2008 through June 29, 2009.  Riders will be ranked based on their top two results achieved during the qualification period, and a team of four riders will be selected in order of ranking by July 6, 2009.

 

Riders who would like to be considered for selection must declare their interest to Equine Canada by May 18, 2009, in accordance with the selection criteria.

 

“The Kentucky Cup event is a great opportunity for Canadian riders to experience the new competition facilities at the Kentucky Horse Park in preparation for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games,” said Bob Thompson, chair of the Canadian Reining Committee.

 

The 2009 Kentucky Cup CRI 4* will be held from July 21–23, 2009, at the Kentucky Horse Park, in Lexington, KY, USA.  This top international venue has been completely redesigned to host the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
