The Mane Event is pleased to announce that Hilda Gurney, dressage pioneer, Olympian, trainer, and judge, will be conducting the dressage clinics and presentations at the Mane Event Equine Education & Trade Fair at Red Deer, Alberta’s Westerner Park April 25 – 27, 2008.  Gurney enthusiastically stepped in when Dr. Cesar Parra, originally scheduled for the event, withdrew for personal reasons.

“We are very fortunate that Hilda was willing to re-arrange her schedule to be with us on such short notice,” said show organizers.  “This is an unexpected, but terrific opportunity for both riders and spectators to learn from someone whose name is synonymous with dressage.”

Gurney is a two-time Olympian and nine-time Pan American competitor who has participated in dressage for over three decades as competitor, trainer and breeder.  She is also a USEF and FEI judge.  She has not only directly contributed to the success of many Grand Prix level riders.  Those riding at a lower level also look to her for her guidance.  She continues to ride and train a phenomenal number of both her own and her clients’ horses.

Gurney joins the impressive lineup of internationally renowned clinicians and trainers who are converging in Red Deer for the second year of the Mane Event in Central Alberta.  Along with the equine trade fair, which this year has expanded to 115,000 sq. ft., the Event is generating a phenomenal amount of buzz and excitement in the horse community across Canada and into the United States.

The Mane Event opens at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 25 and runs throughout the weekend. Admission to all clinics, presentations and the Equine Experience is included in the admission price, and tickets are available at the door.  For complete information about the Mane Event visit www.maneeventexpo.com or contact the office at (250) 578-7518.
