Equine Connection and Equine Guelph have partnered on an online educational initiative, “Who Knew? Fun Facts & Why it Matters.”
After collecting input from our followers and adding a few of our own lesser-known truths, the e-book is ready to share. Grab your esoteric piece of information for the day and share with your equine acquaintances.
Did you know horses have one of the smallest stomachs, relative to their size, of all mammals? Did you know they cannot vomit? Do you know why horses can sleep standing up? Ever heard of fairy slippers?
A great resource for instructors, riding camps and all equestrians with inquiring minds! The e-book is full of information on nutrition, vision, hearing, health, anatomy, breeds, safety and equine behaviour.
The e-book can be downloaded from Equine Guelph’s members resources page. All you need to do is sign up for Equine Guelph’s free monthly E-newsletter. Already a member and lost the link to the resource page? Just update your information to receive the link and add the URL to your favorite bookmarks.
“We are pleased to be part of this fun initiative with Equine Connection,” says Equine Guelph director, Gayle Ecker. “Horses share some things similar to us, but there are important differences. When we know about those differences and why they are like that, we are in a better position to care for their unique needs and promote good health and welfare.”
