Two animal rights organizations have called on the Manhattan District Attorney’s office to investigate the collapse of Ryder.

Animal rights group Center for a Humane Economy said that Ryder is not at a 'sanctuary' but rather a farm connected to the carriage trade.

The animals had been placed for adoption by the BLM’s adoption programs, which puts federally protected equines at risk of slaughter.

More than 90 groups, businesses, rescues and 1,100 individuals have called for a stop to the BLM’s roundup of the Onaqui wild horses.
