We may have a new Prime Minister, but we still have an ongoing tariffs war and threats to our sovereignty, thanks to our southern neighbours. For many of us in the Great White North, one way to respond to this craziness is via our wallets. ‘Buy Canadian’ – shopping for items made in Canada, or sold by Canadian businesses, has become a rallying cry alongside ‘Elbows Up!’ For those of us in the equine community that means taking a close look at where we buy our grain, our tack and other horse-related supplies (and closely reading the labels).

To help you sort through the many items you use at the barn on a regular and not-so regular basis we curated a list of Canadian-owned brands and businesses and Canadian products. This is not an exhaustive list, but simply a starting point, as there are many other companies that could easily be here ‒ feel free to drop us a line at editor@horse-canada.com and tells us who to add!

And we’re not the only ones paying attention to Canadian companies in the horse industry; check out Canadian horse owner and business owner Kristen Lee’s ever-growing list that she put together on a Facebook group: Canadian Equine Products Master List.
