I work out a little bit and I play tennis on the rare occasions that I have time. (Hugh used to ski as well.)

What is the coolest place you have ever visited? Why? When?

Literally – Lake Louise in 1970 – it was 24 degrees below zero (Ha! Ha!Ha!­)

Really – Australia because the people are really nice and it’s a lovely country. I took my daughter (Laurel) with me and we had a great time.

If you could ride anyone else’s horse, which one would you choose?

Kevin Babington’s horse – an Irish bred chestnut.

What was the most memorable/important horse show moment to you?   Why?

1984 Olympics – I rode Elrond, a difficult horse, and we jumped a clear round in the Nations’ Cup, which helped Canada finish in fourth place.

Who is the most interesting person that you’ve had the opportunity of meeting?

I had lunch once with Pierre Trudeau.  He was a really interesting man.

Do you have a dog or cat? What kind? Do they go to horse shows with you?

My wife has several dogs but they mostly stay at home and guard the farm.

What is you new up and coming horse?

Black Diamond is a seven-year old Belgian bred mare that is really amazing.  She is by Chin Chin out of a Darco mare and she has tremendous power.
