A video of a woman being knocked down and run over by a Hamilton Police Service mounted officer went viral over the weekend.
Officers were called to a house party celebrating McMaster University’s Homecoming for crowd control on Saturday afternoon. It’s reported that a few thousand students had gathered in the Westdale area during the celebrations.
The video shows two mounted officers trotting through the crowd, when one of the horses hits a woman from behind, knocking her to the ground and apparently stepping on her, before fellow partygoers came to her aid. Two officers patrolling on foot stayed with the woman until paramedics arrived. She did not sustain any serious injuries.
