American author James Patterson is something of a publishing sensation. He’s considered the world’s best-selling author and created beloved book series such as Alex Cross and the Women’s Murder Club. He’s also written multiple books with co-authors that include luminaries from the world of politics (Bill Clinton – The President is Missing) and music (Dolly Parton – Run, Rose, Run). This time, Patterson, along with co-author Mike Lupica, a hall of fame sportswriter, has turned his attention to the equestrian world.

His latest book The Horsewoman is set in the elite show jumping world of Wellington, Florida, and follows the journey of Maggie Atwood and Becky McCabe, a mother and daughter who set out to make the Olympic team for the upcoming Paris Games. While they vowed never to go head-to-head in competition, that changes when a team spot is on the line. The characters are three strong women and of course there are the horses: Coronado, a Belgian Warmblood, and Sky, a small, speedy Dutch Warmblood. A page-turner and great snuggle-up winter read for horse lovers and fans of the sport.
