Move over Budweiser Clydesdales, there’s a new equine commercial star in town! We’re talking about the new viral 45-second spot for Canadian company Kicking Horse Coffee that features an adorable donkey who hops on a motorcycle and guns it past a herd of horses. No, really.
This is the first North American ad campaign for the BC-based brand which follows the donkey as he stares longingly over his barn door as a herd of gorgeous horses gallop past freely. You can see the envy on his little face. Until, that is, he spots a dusty old motorcycle in the barn behind him.
Cue the rock music – Mötley Crüe’s Kickstart My Heart no less – and our donkey star hops on the bike and blasts through his fenced enclosure. Free of the barn he hits the gears and guns it past the horses, who now look at his speed with envy. The ad has the tagline “Kickstart your heart.” The CGI-generated imagery is hilarious and sure to catch the attention of all those who need a jolt of caffeine in the morning.
The coffee brand is certified Fairtrade and has a number of blends with awesome names such as Kick Ass, 454 Horsepower, Three Sisters, Grizzly Claw, Cliff Hanger and Happy Camper.
