Horse Expo Canada 2022 will take place at the Westerner Park, Red Deer, Alberta from April 15-17 2022. This largest equine trade show in Western Canada features clinics, presentations, trade fair booths, an art show and more.
One of the most anticipated events of the weekend is the Trainers Showdown, where some of the top horse trainers in North America compete against each other to train a young horse over the course of three days. Participants include Jason Irwin, Kade Mills and Trevor Mertes; the event will be judged by Cain Quam, Marc Garner and Lorie Duff.
Duff, who operates Lorie Duff Horsemanship at Liberty Lane Farm near Ottawa, ON, has the honour of being the first female judge for Trainers Showdown. “I’m humbled to have been invited to judge this event, and to be a part of the largest equine trade show in Western Canada,” said Duff. She is the creator of the Cowgirl Channel of Canada, a show featuring cowgirls from across the country. The show features woman from the ranching industry to arts and entertainment, with stories to inspire and motivate. She will also be a clinician at Horse Expo Canada with the focus “Step by Step Check List for Groundwork.”
