What they do:
- Performances: The Showriders perform intricate and synchronized riding routines that combine horsemanship, choreography, and precision. Their performances are a highlight at the Calgary Stampede and other events, showcasing their skills and the rich heritage of western horsemanship.
- Parades & Community Events: The Showriders are active in community events, bringing their performances to various local celebrations, rodeos, and festivals. They participate in parades, both locally and internationally, spreading the spirit of the Calgary Stampede and the western way of life. Their vibrant costumes and well-trained horses make them a crowd favourite. A favourite part of these appearances is the ‘Stand N’ Pats’ where attendees can come up pat the horses and meet the Showriders. This helps to promote the Calgary Stampede and engage with the community. (To have the Showriders at your event you can reach out to showriders.jd@gmail.com to book them.)
- Training and Education: Members of the Showriders receive high-level training from experienced coaches and trainers. This training not only improves their horsemanship skills but also teaches them about teamwork, discipline, and leadership. The Showriders act as ambassadors for Calgary and the Calgary Stampede. They promote the values of the Stampede and represent the organization in a positive light at all events they attend.
- Travel and Competitions: The Showriders travel to various locations, both within Canada and internationally, for education, to compete and perform. This provides them with unique opportunities to showcase their talents and engage with a broader audience. Travel offers them the opportunity to experience global equestrian cultures firsthand, enhancing their skills and understanding of the diverse equestrian traditions around the world. This global exposure not only enriches their personal growth but also strengthens their connections within the international equestrian community.
