The following letter has been circulated by Ontario Equestrian as an update to the ongoing reopening of equestrian facilities:
Since our last announcement on Friday May 15, 2020, regarding the reopening of equestrian businesses, we have continued to advocate hard over the weekend for an amendment to the “Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act” to include equestrians access to indoor facilities.
We are pleased to report that the amendment has been made and access to indoor horse riding facilities is now possible, while still adhering to strict biosecurity measures and groupings no larger than 5 persons in one area. Please note: This amendment has yet to be released to the public, so we have only included the portion specific to our sport, with an intention of sharing the full document once it is made public.
With public riding lesson facilities opening today, we wanted to get this update out to the community immediately to help you prepare and to ensure that those facilities without an outdoor riding ring can be included in the re-opening process.
