Two mares experienced abortions in their 10th month of pregnancy due to EHV-1 infection at a farm in Simcoe County, which is now under quarantine.

Two mares have died due to the neurological form of Equine Herpesvirus at a stable in Manitoba, according to the Equine Disease Communication Center.

On January 18, 2019 two cases of equine herpes viral abortion caused by equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1) was reported at a farm in Haldimand County in Ontario.
