You are invited to Winsong Farm to enjoy Marie-Lynn Hammond in a Special “Barn” Concert, which will take place Sunday June 23rd at 2:00 p.m. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for teens.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Marie-Lynn Hammond has just released HoofBeats, a beautiful CD celebrating equines, from mustangs to draft horses to rare breeds to naughty ponies. All the original songs tell stories—some serious, some funny—which horse people will appreciate not only for their poetry but also for their true-to-life details.
That’s because Marie-Lynn has been riding since she was eight, and despite a major accident a few years ago, is back in the saddle. In fact the first song she wrote after her accident, the moving “Emily Flies,” was based on her experiences at a therapeutic riding facility. “Horses broke me, and horses healed me,” she explains. “There was no question I was going to ride again—it was simply a matter of when and how.”
She’ll perform songs from HoofBeats as well as from her second new CD, Creatures, which contains several tunes about animals and nature, so besides horses, dogs and cats will get celebrated too.
Marie-Lynn will be accompanied by fabulous musicians D’Arcy Wickham and Allan Soberman. And both during and after the show, the horses of Winsong Farm will make appearances!
