CBC’s Heartland has a new character – Luke, played by Lucian-River Chauhan, an eight-year-old actor from Calgary, Alberta. Luke’s arrival at the Heartland ranch bears many parallels to Ty’s appearance on the show, back in season 1. Just like with Ty (Graham Wardle), social worker Clint (Greg Lawson) brings Luke to Heartland in the hopes that being there will help with his bad behaviour.
Lucian may be new to TV, but he definitely isn’t a stranger to acting. Calgary residents may recognize him from Theatre Calgary’s Secret Garden and Alberta Theatre Projects’ Zorro: Family Code.
Heartland can be seen on Sundays at 7:00 p.m. (7:30 p.m. in Newfoundland).
