Love them or hate them, Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are here to stay and are galloping onto a small screen near you. And not just splashed across the media as tabloid fodder, either – they have just announced a new documentary series set in the glamorous world of professional polo.

According to Deadline, the polo series is one of two new projects the Royal couple announced as part of their overall deal with Netflix, which they signed in 2020. The untitled polo series will largely be filmed in horse mecca Wellington, Florida and will “explore the world of the sport, which is known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene. It will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level.”
Filming already began this month in the Sunshine State during the U.S. Open Polo Championship. Prince Harry, who has long been an avid player of the sport for years, took part in a tournament last weekend. According to Hello!Canada the match saw Harry ride against his friend and international polo sensation Nacho Figueras in the Royal Salute Polo Challenge. But it was the Prince’s team, Sentebale, who prevailed. In true actress style, Meghan, who was presenting the trophy, bypassed the other players on the winning stage and made a beeline for her hubby, whom she kissed as the Netflix cameras rolled.
The second doc series announced will focus on Meghan as she explores cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship. These projects mark the fourth and fifth unscripted series from the duo. They released Harry & Meghan, a six-part series in 2022, as well as Live to Lead and Heart of Invictus.
The non-working Royals also snapped up the rights to Canadian novelist Carley Fortune’s bestseller Meet Me at the Lake, the first feature film under the couple’s Archewell Productions banner.
