Happy Mouth Bits Recall

English Riding Supply has issued a recall of eight models Happy Mouth of wire mouth bits. Anyone who has purchased one of these bits should discontinue use and be aware that it is illegal to sell or attempt to sell any of the affected models.

More than 3,000 bits are involved in the recall, including the model numbers: 462172SS, 462177SS, 462181SS, 462184SS, 464123SS, 466898SS, 466904SS and 467248SS.

The recall was issued because the steel braided wire in the mouthpiece that connects the bit to the cheekpieces can become frayed, rusted or worn causing the bit to break. There are four recorded incidents of injury due to this type of breakdown.
