Western riding has exploded in popularity thanks to hit shows like Yellowstone. Last weekend real world cowboys and cowgirls collided with Hollywood yet again at a National Cutting Horse Association event in Weatherford, Texas. The event was held at Bosque Ranch, the spread owned by Yellowstone creator and horseman Taylor Sheridan, and included Open, Non-Pro, Youth, $50,000 Amateur, and Unlimited Amateur divisions.
Amping up the glamour factor was an appearance in the ring by supermodel and horsewoman Bella Hadid, as reported by Sports Illustrated Rodeo News. The 2022 model of the year and Vogue cover star is already well-known in the show jumping arena, but appears determined to conquer the western ring as well. The change in riding disciplines is probably in no small part due to Hadid’s romance with cutting horse trainer and rider Adan Banuelos. According to TMZ, the two were spotted in Texas embracing and holding hands last fall.
In a video at the event, Hadid can be seen in the ring cutting cows while wearing a cowboy hat, pigtails and black fringed chaps. No matter what she’s doing, the model looks the part.
