A fire, a crash, and breakdowns are making it difficult for Maritime Standardbred owners to shuttle their horses to the races by ferry.

Roughly 800 horses in central and western Prince Edward Island are currently without a veterinarian.

The test run last year was not popular with some cyclists and hikers; the 2022 version will include an educational component for them.
