Hollywood actress and horsewoman Kaley Cuoco wasted no time introducing daughter Matilda to her “barn friends.” And she also bought her little girl an adorable pinto pony, Skye. Cuoco, who has competed at Spruce Meadows in the jumper ring, has several horses and other animals at her California spread, Big Bay Ranch, so no doubt the new pony fits right in.

And Matilda, who was born March 30, 2023, appears to be taking after her mother when it comes of a love of animals. Cuoco told People Magazine that Matilda “loves horses, so that’s great.” The Big Bang Theory and Flight Attendant star also shared images with People of Matilda sitting astride her pony in a specially designed saddle as she is led around her father, actor Tom Pelphrey (Ozark).

“We had a special saddle made for her, so it actually props her up,” Cuoco told People. “And she just sits in that thing and walks around and it is crazy.”

The star is known for her passion for show jumping and her horses. In 2023 she wrote a loving tribute to her mare Bella who passed away at 17. In a post on Instagram she captioned a photo of her on the Selle Francais horse: “Sometimes horses come into your life and truly make you see the world in a new and beautiful way. Si Bella, you were the horse of a lifetime. Still to this day I cannot believe you were mine. You taught me how to fly and put me in dream arenas I thought could only ever be a dream. You had the heart of a warrior truly till your last breath. You deserve all the love, gratitude, and respect my heart can muster. Thank you for giving me your all, since the day we met… She was special to so many and will remain to be … Thank you to everyone that was part of her journey…”

The star has also been an animal welfare advocate for all species, speaking out during the controversial Tokyo Olympics modern pentathlon event when German athlete Annika Schleu and her coach took to abusing a horse when he refused to jump during the final event of the competition.  “This rider and her “trainer” are a disgrace. I’ll buy that horse outright and show it the life it should have,” Cuoco said in a viral Instagram story.

Currently, Cuoco is starring in the comedy Based on a True Story, but we can see from her posts on social media that she is spending her downtime at the barn, either in the saddle herself, or watching her child take up the reins of the family sport.
