Tomorrow at 5am I leave to go and get Solo.  We managed to enter him at an event in North Carolina called ‘The Fork’.  He is entered in the Novice division with Selena riding him. We will get to Florida early on Wednesday morning, on Wednesday afternoon Selena will cross country school the four horses that she is going to compete in NC – two Novice and two Prelim. The other Novice is Solo’s buddy Waldo.

We will sleep in Ocala on Wednesday night and drive up to North Carolina early on Thursday morning, then bring Solo home to Canada the following Monday.  I am looking forward to seeing him in action. It would be nice if he could get through the whole event without stating his opinions about anything….we shall see.

He looks great, very fit and grown up.  He has had a busy winter working six or seven days a week under saddle, in addition to roundpen work, hot walker every day for forty minutes and being ponied occasionally.  Now that we are able to increase his work, he has a lot less to say for himself. It’s tough being five!

We had another horse at an event in North Carolina at the same farm this past weekend (they run them back to back). While we were there we met up with “The Saddle Doctor” who restuffed both my dressage and Selena’s jumping saddle quite differently.  We are hoping that the saddles may be a better fit for Solo when we fit them on him on Wednesday.

I am taking my camera with me to The Fork, and will let you know how it goes.
