Nancy Jaffer, a regular blogger on the Horse-Canada website (e1a45567e7.nxcli.net/due-south) was awarded a Pegasus Medal of Honor during the USEF Pegasus Awards ceremony, considered by many to be the ‘Oscars of the equestrian world’, which took place on January 18th during the 2018 US Equestrian Annual Meeting held January 17-20, 2018, in Lexington, KY.

Jaffer is an American photographer, journalist, and author who has covered nine Olympics and a score of World Cup finals. The Pegasus awards were created to recognize individuals who have exhibited outstanding service to horses and the sport through their dedication and ability to attract people to the sport and advance its popularity. Other Pegasus Award winners included the Lifetime Achievement Award, which was presented in honour of the late Bill Steinkraus, and McLain Ward, who was named USEF Equestrian Of The Year.
