Show jumper In Style, the Holsteiner gelding who helped clinch the team silver medal for Canada with a final-round clear performance that forced a jump-off with the US at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, died Sept. 27th at the age of 20.

In Style was owned by Susan Grange and Lothlorien Farm in Cheltenham, ON, and ridden by Ian Millar of Perth, ON, under whose guidance he won over 20 grand prix, three World Cup qualifiers, two Canadian National Show Jumping Championships (2004 and 2006), and the $200,000 CN Reliability Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows.

In Style, who was known around the barn as Stevie, was injured in 2009 and took a hiatus from the ring to recover, returning briefly to competition in 2011. He was retired in 2012 to Lothlorien Farm.

“In Style was a very close personal friend of mine,” said Millar in a Team Millar Facebook post. “When the big moment in competition would come I knew that he would always give me his best. He will be greatly missed.”
