It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Don Martz, a passionate horseman and respected member of the media. The equine community has lost a devoted enthusiast who was dedicated to our sport. Martz served as president of the Canadian Equestrian Federation from 1992 – 1996 after his retirement from a very successful 40-year career in the media.

“Although I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Don personally, his reputation was one of compassion, kindness and of being a gentle man. His passion and commitment for horses, the equestrian community and support of the sport was renowned. We truly regret hearing of his passing,” states Michael Gallagher, President of Equine Canada.
On behalf of Equine Canada we extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Mount-Royal funeral complex.
