Equestrian Canada (EC) would like to remind the para-equestrian community that the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) is accepting applications for 2019-2020 granting round of the Paralympic Sport Development Fund and the deadline to submit applications is approaching fast on March 3, 2019.
The CPC recognizes the importance of strong development programming to support a sustainable sport system, as well as podium performances. The Paralympic Sport Development Fund targets initiatives designed to enhance support for development in areas such as athlete recruitment, coaching, competition, daily training environments, and equipment in the pursuit of Paralympic goals.
Eligible applicants can apply for funds of either $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000. The timeframe for projects is between April 2019 and March 2020.
The Paralympic Sport Development Fund Guidelines 2019-2020 provide further details and important information on the application process and eligibility criteria.
EC encourages all eligible athletes and therapeutic riding centres to work with their Provincial/Territorial Sport Organization to apply for the available funding opportunities. The Paralympic Sport Development Fund provides a unique opportunity for riding centres to host meaningful programs and impactful clinics with industry leaders, such as EC Para-Dressage High Performance Technical Leader, Clive Milkins, who has helped to advance the state of para-dressage nationwide.
