It’s been a very busy week with everyone gone and lots of work to get done. I have been riding 4-5 horses a day which has been tons of fun.

It’s been really nice having my parents here and my mom has fallen in love with the barn.  We went up the coast just past Malmo to the big horse show Falsterbo. It was incredible! Over 200 vendors and about 60,000 people attended to see the Nations’ Cup for both jumping and dressage. They had two full lunch areas with five different options for food and even had a Paul Mitchell hair salon! I pulled a first and got my bangs trimmed. I needed it done anyway since I was starting to have troubles seeing. I thought to myself “Well this doesn’t happen very often, getting your hair cut at a horse show.” I felt pretty silly but the girl did a great job.

I watched the 7yr old championships which Jan was riding Roosevelt in. He won the first day and finished second today. In the final, first went to Sune Hannsen on Blue Horse Rush-hour – amazing horse! It was very close between the two, only half a point. The Nations’ Cup Grand Prix Freestyles were also fantastic. Sweden won and Briars retirement ceremony was very nicely done. They gave him a cooler with all his wins listed on it.

I learned a lot watching at the show seeing how important details are and how it’s the details that make or break that half a point. Right down to your halt salute can cost you the championships and transition marks are huge. I noticed judges are really rewarding transitions. Next weekend the Danish Championships are on at a castle. My mom and I are going to try and watch next Sunday. It is only a short drive so hopefully we can make the trip. I will be sure video that to.

The weather is very wet this week, luckily the rain held off for the show.

These two videos are Briar’s Goodbye and part of Patrick Kittle’s Freestyle. Sweden’s Got Talent with this pair! All I can say is Wow. We thought we had taken more video but my mom forgot to press record and I missed Rush Hours With Sune Hannsen from Denmark.
