RACE 1 –  5 fur; Claiming $5,000

1 – PRIZED BOURBON came off a very long layoff to win her season debut last weekend and she ran hard and fast. Yes, she could regress a bit coming right back but she is easily the quickest in the field. Hard to play and hard to play against.

2- DEVILISH STYLE has never won on the all weather track after 14 attempts but she loves the dirt and has been wonderful for Nick Mileni and Helen Vanek.

5 – CAPTURE YOUR HEART is one of 2 in the race for trainer Ross Armata and she has been known to enjoy short distances and the springtime.

 

RACE 2- 6 fur; maiden special weight

4 – STRIKE IT ROYAL is a Sam-Son farms filly who ran well in two turf sprints at Woodbine last year. Now a 4-year-old, she was looking for grass in her season debut at Gulfstream but caught the dirt and stalled in a 2 turn race. The winner came right back to win an allowance race on turf with a 79 Beyer Figure.

1- CIURI is a first timer by last year’s leading first crop sire Souper Speedy and from the same mare that produced millionaire Something Extra. She shows lots of super workout times last year and this year.

3 – MEG FITZ is a daughter of world class sire Tapit and she is a 4yo who has beenin Florida working in good clockinsgs. She has not raced since her debut in Jan. 2018.

 

RACE 3- 5 fur; optional claiming

4 – SILENT RESPECT has a lovely first campaign at the races and should be quick enough to be a major force at this sharp distance.

1- SUBZERO PLUS began 2018 well and ended it well and she has the rail but can be in the hunt under Da Silva.

6 – TWITTER STORM is speedy and is one of the younger gals in the group.

 

RACE 4- 5 fur; maiden claiming $7,500

8- HARDY CANDY gets a slight nod in a tough maiden race to start the Pick 4. He is one of 2 in the race for the Buttigieg team that does not often have the horses cranked up to win first time out on the season. This guy has shown a bit of speed and drops slightly in class.

7 – HEDEMAN drops in class for his season debut and he had several good efforts as a 2-year-old; Da Silva sticks with him for trainer Renée Kierans.

1 – TRAVOLTA tumbles in class and he was racing at Oaklawn with the Norm McKnight stable over the winter. If this was a lsightly longer race he would be picked on top.

 

RACE 5- 6 fur.; maiden special weight

2 DINO THREE O NINE ran two super races at Gulfstream this winter and comes out of a very strong maiden race. The winner of his latest came back to win with a 98 Beyer Figure at Gulfstream and Dino was well clear of the 3rd place horse.

4 EXPLORATIONIST is one of 2 high priced maidens in the field for trainer Mark Casse; he cost  a staggering $825,000. First race since December and he has showed some speed in short dashes. His mate SOUPER SHENANGIAN, a $500,000 purchase, is a 4yo maiden with speed.

5 – ARI GOLD SPEEDWAGON is the steel grey half brother to Horse of the Year Pink lloyd. He debuted on opening debut and lacked speed but he finished fast while lugging in hard through the stretch He galloped out strongly. He will wear blinkers for the quick return to action.

 

RACE 6- 7 fur; allowance/optional

6 – GHOSTLY PRESENCE is a stakes winner who has been off since last summer but she has got rave reviews from clockers at Keeneland this spring.

7 – HOT CASH wants more distance but is a steady filly with talent who can rally for a top three prize.

1 – WEST L A GIRL ran the best race of her career in her 2nd start last year but then went on the sidelines. She won 1st time out in 2017.

 

RACE 7- WANDO STAKES; 1 1/16 MILES

1-2-3-4

 

1- GLOBAL ACCESS just won a grass stakes race at Gulfstream and he won his maiden on this surface last year. There is very little pace in this field but he should be able to stay close.

2 – FEDERAL LAW ran a big race in the Coronation Futurity last year but his season debut at Turfway was a mess as he was rank, steadied and jostled around.

3 – SKYWIRE is one of 2 for trainer Mark Casse in the field and like Federal Law, is a Queen’s Plate hopeful. He also ran at Turfway Park last time and was also under a hard hold early and he faded. He is dangerous with his speed.

 

RACE 8 – 6 fur; maiden claiming $40,000

1-8-6-4

1 – VICTOR’S WAY returns as a gelding and he ended his first season of racing with a big run in only his 2nd career start. His trainer Mike DePaulo had one ready to win off a layoff on Friday.

8  SURE WOULD FOREST is bred for speed and has quick works for Robert Tiller.

4 – WHITE WEDDING had plenty of good runs as a 2-year-old and should be ready to rock with his speed off the layoff for David Bell.

6 – BIG CLASSIC is another Mike DePaulo trainee who ran well when getting more distance 2nd time out last year. For the High 5 wager consider also first timer BOKERMIN, a son of Morning Line, with Patrick Husbands riding.
