RACE 1- 5 fur. starter/optional

3 -MISS FORESTER won first time out in 2018 at 5 furlongs and had a speedy workout on April 9 for trainer Scott Fairlie.

1 – COBRA SOPHIE also won first time out in 2018 against better and she is also from the Fairlie barn. She has a better record on grass but has some back class.

2 – DANCE OR STROLL has four wins at the distance and comes off deserved winter break after 22 races in 2018.

 

RACE 2 –  5 fur; claiming

2 – OPEONGO came back to form in her third outing of the winter for trainer Elliott Sullivan to win for $5K. She has had two good workout times getting ready for her return to a surface she enjoys. Note that she won on opening weekend last year.

1 – PRIZED BOURBON comes off a one year layoff for Norm McKnight and drops from allowances to claiming $7K. Fast workout times  although red flags.

4 – AMAZON LIZZIE has had a few workouts at Pimlico and she ran well when fresh off a layoff last May.

 

RACE 3- 5 1/2 FUR.; ALLOWANCE

5 – GOLDRUSH GLORY is very quick and looks to end a lengthy winless streak for new trainer Josie Carroll.

3 – SPRINGDETTI had a few outings at Oaklawn Park with Norm McKnight and showed good speed. She was doing well here last fall.

2 – TWICE AROUND is Florida raced, stakes placed and has speed to give chase.

 

RACE 4- 5 fur; optional claiming

5-7-6-1

5 – GIMBALA has been off since July but blazed through half a mile in 47 on April 7 for Robert Tiller. She was a close 2nd in her season debut last April at 5 furlongs.

7 – TOUGHING IT OUT was very fast first time out last June when winning her debut at this distance. Working fast for Laurie Silvera.

6 – ISLAY INLET has had mixed results on the Tapeta but has some speed to keep up.

 

RACE 5 – 5 fur; maiden special weight

4 – ARI GOLD SPEEDWAGON is a half brother to Horse of the Year Pink Lloyd and by the 2018 leading freshman sire in Canada Souper Speedy. His workout times this spring have picked up.

6 – CASTLE GATE raced just once as a juvenile for Stronach Stables and Sid Attard and had the rail post, broke slowly and had a fast move mid-race.

3 – POWELL ships in from Fair Grounds via Keeneland for Mike Stidham who brings Missmizz to the Star Shoot Stakes.. He gets blinkers and is quick.

 

RACE 6-  STAR SHOOT STAKES 6 fur.

5 – SISTER PEACOCK is unbeaten at Woodbine and was second in two stakes races on grass at Gulfstream. She is very quick but also fit and this Kentucky bred by Real Solution gets a slight nod in a competitive race.

9 – INTANGA ROSE was undefeated in 2 races last year and had a 78 Beyer Speed Figure  second time out. Sid Attard trained this one in Florida in the winter for Stronach Stables and her prep times have been super.

4 – MY GAL BETTY was a top filly locally last year but sank in the soft turf in the Breeders’ Cup in November and wasn’t too good in the recent Grade 3 Herecomesthebride Stakes on turf at Gulfstream. Getting back home to a one-turn Tapeta sprint may help.

2 – MISSMIZZ ships in for trainer Mike Stidham and she is 2 for 3 on turf in her career but should handle a Tapeta sprint.

 

RACE 7 – 5 fur; maiden optional claiming

6 – FAFA FOOEY ran so well in his first race in Florida in January off the long layoff with a 77 Beyer Figure it is hard to believe he has not come back to it in 3 races since then. He is fit and should handle the 5 furlongs for Sid Attard.

4 – KID FORESTER just about won his 2nd career race last December with Da Silva and that rider is back on this Mike DePaulo trainee.

3 – VIVIDARI has a couple of quick workouts and his debut was not too bad last Dec. 16.

 

RACE 8  – 5 fur. claiming

5 – CAT ZAPPER has never been this low on the class scale and while this distance is a bit short for him he has plenty of back class to have a chance to end a long winless streak.

1 – YALLHAVEANICEDAY is a quick grey from John Ross and he loves the short distances. He has to avoid getting burned out chasing the fleet Flashy Margaritta.

8 – HOPEHARD won a short dash at Presque Isle off a long layoff last May. He does not show much in the way of prepping.
