Anne Marie Duarte here, reporting for Team O’Hanlon. After a long search I am so excited to say that we have a new horse trailer! We have been lucky enough to borrow one from Arthur Tateishi for most of last year, which was a lovely big trailer that the horses loved shipping in, but I am very excited to get to properly settle in to one of our very own.

I don’t like unpacking anywhere near as much as I like packing. I LOVE packing, but unpacking not so much. I tend a bit towards throwing everything in a pile anyway, but this time was particularly bad as Morag and Selena turned around almost as soon as we got back from Kentucky to drop off Arthur’s trailer in Orangeville and pick up the new one in London. So in addition to unpacking a winter’s worth of stuff, we had to quickly gut all the things that live in the trailer on a semi-permanent basis. It doesn’t seem like a lot until it’s all in a pile in the barn aisle! And, of course, it’s been raining forever so make that a soggy pile, even better right…

The new trailer is a 4 star, very similar to our old trailer, but a little newer, bigger and better! The saddle racks are very similar and I remembered that sometimes in the old trailer we had a little bit of trouble with the edges of the racks scraping the lovely soft leather on our saddles e(specially if I am trying to cram too many saddles onto one rack… not that I ever do that #badgroom). I happened to have a few extra Voltaire saddle covers around and wanted to pay homage to our favourite saddles, so I adapted the covers to fit the racks.
