So finally we are allowed to say publicly that Selena and Woody have been picked to represent Canada in Rio. WHOOPEE!!! It has been a stressful build up to the announcement and I hope that all the drama that has taken place will not fracture the team in any way. It’s a good team as declared but my heart goes out to Kathryn Robinson, I wish she had not been put through this, it has to be really really awful to have this happen to you TWICE.
I don’t think I would want to be a selector. It’s a very very difficult task.
Woody is in good form and he has been practicing his Samba. He leaves here on Wednesday for the first leg of his journey to Brazil. He is going to Florida for Training Camp which begins on the 24th then they fly to Brazil on the 30th. The late date of the announcement has not left us much time to do anything extra but we are doing a little bit of fund raising as best we can. Our raffle tickets are $20 each and we are only selling 250 tickets. The first prize is a really beautiful jump designed and painted by artist Elizabeth Hay to be the ‘Foxwood High Jump’. I have already bought my tickets as we would very much like to keep it here! Other prizes include a lesson from Selena, a clip for your horse by Anne Marie, and two hay nets by Haysmart
