The Right Fit: Raewyn Robbins and Sandi Ballard
Along with her mother, Rosemary Phelan, Raewyn owns Braeburn Farms, a breeding and training business in Collingwood, ON. There they breed their stable of select Holsteiner, KWPN and Hanoverian mares to some of the most sought-after stallions from Europe and across the continent. A graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in humanities, Raewyn also works in Toronto for a non-profit organization called The Bhutan Canada Foundation, which recruits teachers for the Himalayan nation. With the support of Sandi Ballard of Tottenham, ON, her trainer since 2004, Raewyn is making her mark in the show ring and producing performance-bred youngsters, while keeping in mind that with horses, teamwork and fun go a long way. Ballard has been a driving force in Raewyn's development as a rider, horsewoman, trainer, and now businesswoman.
