In this Canadian Thoroughbred article, we learn about one of the perks of buying a yearling at the Ontario Canadian Premier Yearling Sale. That is, the chance to run your horse in the exclusive Canadian Millions race night.
Offered by the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society (Ontario chapter), the Thoroughbred Improvement Program and Woodbine Entertainment Group, this lucrative stakes event provides a good opportunity for former sale graduates to strut their stuff in front of prospective buyers, and encourage people to snap up youngsters for future events.
At the 2017 Canadian Millions night, prospective buyers had a chance to rub elbows other Thoroughbred owners and horse people, and to see former sale horses, who are now making names for themselves at the track, in action. In this case, those horses included Pink Lloyd, Melmich, Johnny Bear, Summer Sunday, Eskiminzin and Sweater Weather, who participated in the Canadian Millions night, which offered six exciting stakes races totalling $1 million.
