Border Crossing Made Easy
Morag O'Hanlon is a veteran when it comes to border crossing and shipping horses into the United States for competition. Every winter she trucks her daughter Selena's horses and others from their farm in Kingston to compete on the winter eventing circuit in Florida. She offers some advice for making sure all your ducks are in a row before you head stateside. Your Coggins certificate must be dated within six months of the border crossing. You need this to obtain your temporary or permanent import papers (health papers). These are signed by your veterinarian and then have to be signed and certified by the Ministry of Agriculture veterinarian in your area.
