This summer, for the first time in over 20 years, Horse Trials Saskatchewan (HTSK) will be holding a horse trials at the NorthWestEquest facility, a training and lesson facility owned and operated by Greg and Laurel Vaadeland located near Debden, SK. The event will take place along the West Side of the Prince Albert National Park on July 28-29, 2018, and organizers hope to attract competitors from across Saskatchewan as well as Alberta and Manitoba. Pre-Training, Entry, Pre-Entry and Starter levels will be offered, and it is also a Thoroughbred Incentive Program (TIP) show, so there will be awards for the top Thoroughbred horses in each division.

Horse Trials Saskatchewan is a not-for-profit organization looking to bring fresh ideas and inspiration to the horse community in this prairie province. Their mission statement reads, “We represent a sport that is growing rapidly across North America, and that is seriously underrepresented in this province. We hope to be able to grow this sport from one offering a variety of activities catering to families and new riders, to one that continues the grassroots feel but with the development of some high performance athletes and events.”
