Thunderbird Show Park, in Langley, B.C., will host a Furusiyya Nations Cup Jumping™ qualifier in May 2016. The news was announced July 27th, on the facility’s Facebook page.

The Furusiyya Nations Cup Jumping™ series takes place at venues around the globe and includes 45 nations. Athletes from six regions complete in 19 qualifiers throughout the season in the hopes of making it to the world final. This year’s series finale will take place in Barcelona, Spain, September 24-27.

Spruce Meadows has traditionally hosted an FEI Nations’ Cup during The Masters, but were unable to reach an agreement with the FEI this year because of sponsor conflicts. The FEI has signed a long-term sponsorship deal with Longines, while Spruce Meadows has committed to Rolex and is part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping series. Spruce Meadows will continue to host the BMO Nations Cup, but the results will not count toward the Furussiya series.

Stay tuned for more information on the 2016 series.
