As a continued pledge of cooperation between the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) and the Swiss watchmaker Rolex SA, the FEI announced today that Rolex will be the title sponsor of the FEI World Cup™ Finals 2007 to be held in Las Vegas. The Rolex FEI World Cup™ Finals 2007, which will be among the most significant events on the 2007 FEI calendar, will be held from April 18 – 22 at the Thomas & Mack Center.

“We are very proud that thanks to the relationship of mutual trust and respect that now exists between the FEI and Rolex, a title sponsor of this quality has been brought to Las Vegas,” FEI Commercial Director Christophe Troendle declared.

“We are certainly pleased to announce the partnership with Rolex, one of the world’s most recognizable brands,” said Pat Christenson, president of Las Vegas Events.

“As the host to the Rolex FEI World Cup Finals 2007, Las Vegas will again roll out the red carpet for fans, sponsors and competitors alike and provide a unique experience as the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World.’ We have enjoyed tremendous success as the host to the 2000 and 2003 FEI Jumping World Cup Finals and the dual World Cups in 2005, and we look forward to presenting another world-class competition in Las Vegas that will become the talk of the equestrian sports world.”

The prize money for the Rolex FEI World Cup™ Finals 2007 will be $545,000 for Jumping and $302,000 for Dressage. In 2005, the FEI World Cup Jumping and Dressage Finals were held simultaneously in the same location for the first time in history. Attendance topped 90,000 (90,221 to be exact) as equestrian sports fans turned out in record numbers to share in the excitement.

After the record-breaking success of the 2005 Finals in Las Vegas, excitement over the Finals’ return to the U.S. in 2007 is at an all-time high. Las Vegas Events, Inc. (LVE), producer of 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2007 FEI World Cup Finals, was founded in 1983. LVE has grown with Las Vegas as the city has emerged as one of the world’s top special event and resort destinations. A private, not-for-profit organization, LVE is funded by hotel room tax and serves as the exclusive major special events agency for the city. Since 1991, Las Vegas Events has produced, presented or supported more than 200 events, which have driven more than 2.8 million visitors to the area, resulting in a non-economic impact of more than $1.4 billion.
