Toronto, Ontario – Mallory Jolin of Kemptville, ON, is the lucky winner of a trip for two to Hong Kong, including tickets for the Olympic equestrian events.  The contest was presented by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office (HKETO) in Canada and hosted by the website, www.horse-canada.com.

The equestrian events of the 2008 Olympic Games will be held August 8 to 24 in Hong Kong, China.  As part of her prize package, Jolin will receive tickets to watch the final events for both dressage and show jumping.  She also receives round-trip airfare for two, five night’s hotel accommodation, and Hong Kong tourism packages.

“I was reading Horse-Canada magazine and saw the contest announcement,” explained Jolin.  “I decided to put my name in for fun. I did not expect to win! When I got the call, I thought it was some sort of joke. I never win anything. I was pretty stunned!”

The 20-year-old relocated from her hometown of Vancouver, BC, to study agriculture with an equine option at Kemptville College.  She is currently working as an exercise rider and groom for a polo player.

Jolin will be sharing her trip with her mother, who still lives in Vancouver.  Although Jolin has traveled in the United States and Europe, this will be her first trip to Asia. When asked what she is looking forward to the most in Hong Kong, she enthusiastically responded, “The food.”

She is also looking forward to cheering on the Canadian Equestrian Team, especially the show jumping athletes.

“I am very excited to attend, I hope the Canadians do well,” said Jolin.  “I used to work for a show jumping barn and I still know most of the riders.”
