Invasive plant species are on the move in British Columbia and the Ministry of Agriculture wants to curb that destructive migration. The Ministry is conducting a Weed Free Forage Certification market feasibility study in the coming weeks and Horse Council BC will be contributing to the conversation. (The livestock industry isn’t being singled out: logging, mining, resource extraction, construction and recreationists are also part of the study.)

We want to represent our membership’s views on this important topic, so we’re asking for your comments. Here are a couple of questions to get you started:

Are weeds in hay a concern for you?
Would you be willing to pay more for certified weed-free forage to help prevent the spread of noxious weeds?

Thank you for your input! Please email recreation@hcbc.ca with your comments
