Equestrian Canada (EC) would like to notify the community of changes to the Emergency Equine Medication Report Form for 2019.

The Emergency Equine Medication Report Form has been modified to allow horses who have been treated with a low dose (10mg) of dexamethasone for an acute allergic reaction (hives/uticaria) to compete following a 12 hour withdrawal period, as opposed to 24 hours.

See point #4 of the updated Emergency Medication Report Form.

The Emergency Medication Report Form must be fully completed, signed by the treating
veterinarian and given to the steward at the competition.

Horses may still be subject to medication control testing. The filing of an Emergency Equine
Medication Report Form is not a defense to a violation of the Equine Medication Control Rules.
