Equestrian Canada (EC) will announce the 39 high performance equestrian athletes who will represent Canada at the FEI World Equestrian Games ™ Tryon 2018 (WEG) on September 1st. Tune in to EC’s Facebook livestream at 6:00 p.m. EDT for a live broadcast of the official Canadian Equestrian Team (CET) announcement.

EC is thrilled to have up-and-coming athletes participate in the team announcement, bringing the true spirit of #PonyToPodium to life. Hosted during the Trillium Championships at the Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave, ON, the team announcement will be led by EC Director of Sport and CET Chef de Mission for WEG 2018, Jon Garner – with the help of a large contingent of youth athletes competing at the Trillium Championships.

A total of 39 CET athletes will represent Canada on the world stage at WEG 2018, coming up Sept. 11-23 in Mill Spring, NC. WEG is one of the biggest events on the sporting calendar, held every four years in the middle of the Olympic cycle, and represents the world championships for the eight FEI disciplines of dressage, endurance, eventing, driving, jumping, para-dressage, reining and vaulting.

During WEG, the CET will compete against more than 70 countries in front of 500,000 spectators, vying not just for glory, but in some cases, for Olympic and Paralympic qualification.

Be sure to join the #RideToTryon by tuning into EC’s Facebook livestream for the official team announcement on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 at 6 p.m. EDT!
