This past weekend football fans were treated to a great game, Taylor Swift sightings ‒ and a new Budweiser ad starring the brand’s iconic eight-horse team of Clydesdales. The Super Bowl staple (or is it stable?) has made an appearance during commercial breaks for the last 46 years, with each ad being as cute as the next. The 2024 iteration didn’t disappoint, with a bar in small-town America during a snowstorm about to run out of Bud, and a deliveryman unable to get the truck through the snow. Naturally, a Clydesdale walked up and nuzzled the deliveryman and a decision to deliver the ale ‘old school’ was made.

The horses hit the mountainous roads only to become lost in the dark. Thankfully, a yellow lab (another Budweiser star) heard the horses neigh and ran to them to lead the way in canine Rudolph fashion.

Interesting side note: The smart pooch, named Roy Hawn Russell, belongs to (you guessed it) Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell!

“Budweiser has been synonymous with the Super Bowl for decades, and the broadcast continues to be a very special moment for our brand and a core pillar of our advertising strategy,” Kristina Punwani, the Head of Marketing at Budweiser USA, said in a statement. “This year, we’re thrilled to bring our fans a piece of the traditional Super Bowl entertainment that they know and love from Budweiser: the iconic Clydesdales. We knew there was no better way to show Budweiser’s continued commitment to delivering for its fans than with our biggest celebrities.”

At Warm Springs Ranch, home of the Clydesdales and where the horses are bred, a Football & Foals LVIII Watch Party was held with four new foals helping to host. Lovers of the big draft horses (and the draught beer) are welcome to come for a tour and meet this year’s crop of foals during their tourist season which runs March 23-31.
