When you’re the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, it seems you can afford to take a loss on real estate. At least Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, certainly did so when he put his Georgia horse farm up for sale last week. According to reports, he purchased the property for around $9 million in October 2019 and is now listing it for a bargain $7.5 million.
No word as to why Johnson is selling the farm, but he is a devoted horseman. In 2015 he posted on Facebook a hilarious shot of himself flanked by two lovely equine pals with the caption: “’Cause the boys in the hood are always hard,” along with the hashtag #twostuds.
Then in 2018 he posted on Intagram about his ride on Rusty, the celebrity horse who came for a visit when Johnson was filming in the UK.
“Good Thanksgiving hang with Rusty at the crib here in London. This ol’ boy’s a genuine star as he was Russell Crowe’s horse in one of my favorite films, GLADIATOR as well as ROBIN HOOD. Rusty’s clearly happy when Russell is on his back, because I heard that unmistakable horse groan of “Holyyyy shit please don’t get on me” when 6’5 265lbs of tattooed sunshine saddled up on him. Thankful to Rusty and his pal, Rosey for coming to the crib today for some Thanksgiving ridin’ w/ the ohana.”
Around the same time he posted snapshots of his daughter Jasmine riding a pony in his temporary UK home along with the caption “Our weekly backyard lesson.”
No word as to where Johnson and his horses might go next.
***Fun Facts: The Rock holds both American and Canadian citizenships. His father hails from Nova Scotia. The Rock also played football with the Calgary Stampeders back in 1995.
