In her first public statement since being removed from Canada’s 2016 Olympic Eventing team, Selena O’Hanlon declares that Foxwood High (a.k.a.: Woody) continues to be in great form and that she is seeking clarity on what led to the removal.

O’Hanlon and Foxwood High were initially named to the team, but were removed just before the horses left for Rio and replaced with reserve Kathryn Robinson and Let It Bee. EC stated at the time that the replacement was based on “veterinary medical grounds”, but have not provided the records for review. By comparison, it is standard procedure for the US Team to release all details of examinations to athletes and owners.

“I want to thank everybody for the tremendous support I’ve received after being removed from the 2016 Olympic team. Sponsors, fellow riders, owners including Woody’s owners, John and Judy Rumble, have all stood by me and encouraged me during this challenging time.
